Students study 3 subjects at A Level, and we do not enter candidates for AS Levels. There may be a possibility of starting Year 12 on 4 subjects, depending on course capacity – please discuss this with us.
BTEC pathway, comprising the Level 3 Diploma in Business (equivalent to 2 A Levels) and the Level 3 Cambridge Technical in IT (equivalent to 1 A Level).
These courses are mostly coursework based, but some units are externally examined. We run the new specification of these courses, which are well respected and allow students to progress to university, to an apprenticeship / school leaver programmes or direct to employment. Most students take the Business and IT combination, but it may also be possible for students to combine IT with 2 A Level courses, or Business with one A Level. Please discuss this with us.
Our general entry requirements for the BTEC pathway are English Language 4, Maths 4, and 4 other subjects at 4+. Students who have studied Business at Level 2 would be expected to have achieve Merit 2 or above.
It is very important that we work together to decide the best courses for you, and we will explore your options in depth at interview.
If you are interested in our Foundation and Vocational course for students with SEND, please read the course information carefully and discuss with your school SENDCo.
