November 2023: Year 11 Interview Practice 

Year 11 students will take part in the Interview Practice Workshop in November. Students will practice their interview skills and learn how to stand out from the crowd. This workshop is a 1:1 virtual interview with a business professional. Students answer questions about their achievements, skills and ambitions. The workshop provides students with valuable feedback and tips from experienced interviewers to prepare for future interviews.

 December 2023: Year 7 Money Matters Event 

In the Money Matters Workshop, Year 7 students will develop their financial literacy skills and money management tools to prepare for their future. All students will explore financial terms and concepts, how much living in London really costs and the skills for money management, such as creating a budget. They will hear from real life business professionals on how they manage their money in their adult life and at work, giving them an insight into money management skills for their future.

 January 2024: Year 8 Skills for Success Event 

The Skills for Success Workshop will allow students to learn about how the skills they are developing now are vital for their future career. Through fun and interactive activities, students will explore the skills employers are looking for, learn how to develop them and self-assess their own skills. Students will hear from real life business professionals about the skills employers value and how they apply them to their everyday jobs.

 February 2024: Year 9 Options and Careers Event 

Making decisions at an early age can be daunting and confusing, so the Options & Careers Workshop helps students make smart choices about their future. Through fun and interactive activities, students explore different career pathways, how to make smart GCSE choices and what steps they can take after Year 11. Students will hear from real life business professionals and ask questions about their career journeys, their experiences and the world of work.

April 2024: Year 12 CV & Application Event 

The CV and Application workshop prepares students for every stage of the recruitment process for higher education and future jobs. This workshop will develop CV writing and application writing skills as students learn what makes a good CV and how to stand out from the crowd. They will hear from business professionals as they share their tips and experiences on what they’re looking for in an applicant. This is a great opportunity for students to submit a mock CV for business professionals to review and give feedback on and understand how to tailor CVs and applications for job roles.

 May 2024: Year 10 CV & Assessment Centre Event 

Assessment Centres are now commonly used as part of the recruitment process by many top companies to determine whether candidates have the right skills for the job. Students will take part in a mock assessment centre conducted by business professionals as they assess their performance and give feedback on how to improve in the future and prepare for every stage of the recruitment process for higher education and future jobs.

 June 2024: Careers Fair 

The Careers Fair will give all Year 10 and 12 students an excellent opportunity to meet and connect with employers. This will be a chance to gather information and begin to assess the different training, educational and employment options that are available. Careers Fairs are useful as they are a great place to do some networking, and can be a highly beneficial experience for individuals seeking to explore and enhance their professional opportunities.
